The History of St. Patrick’s Day

Hey Lovelies!

I have come to the realization that I have not done a St. Patrick’s Day post yet, which will be rectified with this post. Why do I want to write a post about this? Well, why not? Plus, it’s widely celebrated here in Canada.

My sibling loves this holiday as it is the one time of year that I’ll drink beer with her. I cannot stand beer, FYI. I do enjoy dressing up in green and seeing what everyone else dresses up in for the holiday. I’m also extremely interested to see how Vancouver celebrates St. Patrick’s Day as well.

Why is this holiday widely celebrated by people who are not of Irish descent? My theory is that, everyone likes a good excuse to drink and dress up in goofy clothes. Believing in a little bit of magic is appealing to some as well. If you are Irish, it’s a way to stay connected to your family back in Ireland.

If you’d like to know the quick history behind St. Patrick’s Day, then watch the video below!

That’s it for me today! Check in here on Tuesday for our world building series to start. We’ll be talking about Science-Fiction as a genre. I hope you all have a great day today! Let me know what you’re up to in the comments if you’d like. I also want everyone to stay safe tonight especially if you’re drinking!
