The Racket is a weekly online journal that publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction with voices from around the globe.
The journal got its start as a reading series in San Francisco in 2017. Since then, the journal has become a popular place for flash fiction, flash nonfiction, and poetry due to its thoughtfully-designed and carefully-crafted downloadable issues. (Seriously, the artwork is gorgeous!)
Each edition features work from about 10 authors.

How to Submit to The Racket
The editors of The Racket want to keep things simple for you and them. So here are their guidelines (literally, this is it):
- They accept prose, poetry, nonfiction, and art.
- The word count is 750. Don’t go over this.
- The Racket takes multiple pieces as long as they’re no longer than 750 words combined.
If you want to submit, send your work in by email to theracketreadingseries@gmail.com. Please don’t send anything to them online or through the mail.
They do accept submissions on a rolling basis, considering that they publish an issue every week. The Racket does accept simultaneous submissions, but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published pieces.
If you want to submit or check out their issues, which you can download for free, click here.
Good luck to all of you who choose to submit! I’ve got my fingers crossed for you.
And if you do get published, please let me know. I’d love to read your work and pass it along to a friend.
Stay safe, everyone.
Until next time.
Cheers,
Danielle
