Aromatica Poetica publishes writing that celebrates smell and taste. They welcome fiction, nonfiction, and poetry and post about half of the submissions they receive.
And they only publish authors that follow their submission guidelines. (See, it pays to read those things.)
The founding editor, Dr. M. Leona Godin, is blind and experiences a heightened sense of smell and taste. She loves literature and is passionate about publishing a wide variety of perceptual perspectives.
The magazine holds two reading periods each year: from October to December and April to June. They accept reprints.
How to Submit to Aromatica Poetica
Are you thinking about submitting your work? There are some things you need to know:
- Authors of short stories, poems, essays, articles, reviews, and interviews may submit.
- Although they accept submissions up to 5,000 words, Aromatica Poetica prefers to publish pieces around 1,500 words.
- Proposals should include a bio and cover letter (100 words maximum), as well as any original artwork or photography for your work.
The magazine accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. And the editors appreciate it when you put the title and category of your proposal in the email’s subject line. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask authors to withdraw work published elsewhere.
